PATIENT FLOW THROUGH THE PRACTICE – NEW PROCEDURES

ARRIVING BY CAR:

Patient rings the doorbell – disinfected after use – wearing a face covering

  • Nurse checks name allows them in/use hand sanitiser at front door/Coronavirus triage/temperature taken
  • Medical status/medical history should have been checked when making appointment by phone
  • Either the patient goes back to the car to wait or goes straight into the dental surgery
  • Patients do not touch any door handles or furniture unnecessarily
  • In the surgery – Medical history checked again and signed with patient’s own pen
  • Appointment carried out
  • Treatment plan discussed, printed off and signed if one is necessary
  • Go to reception and wait for dentist to sort out payment and next appointment
  • Please do not ask for a printed receipt or appointment slip unless absolutely necessary, you will receive your visa receipt and can write payments/appointments on your treatment plan yourself
  • Pay by card if possible
  • Please inform us of email address/contact numbers

NOT BY CAR:

  • As above but then -
  • Asked to wait outside or in waiting room if no more than 2 other people
  • Chair arms and seats are disinfected after each use by nurse using alcohol wipes

    Points to be aware of:

    • TOILET WILL BE OUT OF ACTION – GO BEFORE ATTEND
    • COME WEARING FACE COVERING
    • BE HYDRATED – NO DRINKS AVAILABLE AT PRACTICE
    • COME ALONE UNLESS CARER – CARER WAITS IN CAR IF POSSIBLE
    • DO NOT COME TO THE PRACTICE WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT
    • FINAL PAYMENT MADE BY PHONE PRIOR TO APPOINTMENT
    • BRING OWN PEN TO SIGN FORMS
    • DO NOT BE LATE
